Edgecity were back again this year for our second attempt to land the big one and help ITM Hillside bring the legendary trophy home to the North Shore.
Last years event was hampered by the weather, this year both the weather and the water provided the perfect back drop for a great days fishing. Before sunrise the crew headed off from Leigh towards Little Barrier.
Matt Watson and the ITM Hosts make sure the event runs like a well oiled machine. A days fishing followed by a fantastic meal and prize-giving is certainly enjoyed by the Edgecity crew. An event we etch permanently on the annual calendar to take time off the tools together to enjoy a common hobby and tell fishing stories with like minded builders from within both regions we see from year to year.
Kev won 2nd prize in the schnapper category for his catch. Clement’s fish coming in just short of Kev’s catch. Check out the fish in the photos below.
Sharon received her request for fresh gurnard thanks to Muzz.
Winner of “best fish dish” was a clear winner to Nick with his raw fish dish Fijian style. Best “variety of fish dishes” going to Clement for his fish curry, seafood chowder and fried fish.
The crew fished in two boats wearing their matching Legasea UV Tees and back to front “ITM Hook Me Up” t-shirts.
We will be back for our “third time lucky” attempt in 2024 to land the big one and secure the trophy down at Diana Drive.
Thanks ITM Hillside, Matakana.
